Swedish wartime issue of Gustav III. During the war between Russia and Sweden in 1788, the Swedish government began to introduce imitations of Russian coins with a face value of 5 kopecks minted at the Avesta mint. This exceptionally striking and rare medal pays tribute to the glorious grenadiers and their victorious battles fought between 1792 and 1814. Nearly 200 places are inscribed on the circular cardboard fiche inside the medal, along with dates where the French army triumphed.
