Princess Pauline Bonaparte (1780-1825), Napoleon's favorite sister, married Camillo Borghese, 6th Duke of Sulmona, a descendant of one of the oldest Italian families, as her second husband in 1803. Like her first marriage, this too was politically arranged by Napoleon. Camillo Borghese was the founder of Canova's sculpture, Venus, to which Paulina posed nude. Shortly after this event, their marriage broke up. According to public opinion at the time, the reason for the separation was the Duchess's extravagant ideas, such as using servants as chairs or being brought by black slaves into the bath. However, there was no divorce, only separation (wikipedia)

Pauline was the only one of her siblings to assist Napoleon during his stay on Elba. With Louis XVIII failing to keep the financial commitments agreed upon at Napoleon's abdication at Fontainebleau, Pauline sold her jewels and gave the proceeds to her brother. Together with her mother, she was at his side both on Elba and during the Wells Campaign (wikipedia)
