Early, produced before 1857, very nicely executed, patinated Minter Factory casting of 1849 in bronze. A high relief copy, good quality, engraved inscription on the obverse of Wincenty Pol and the Minter Factory casting signature below the portrait. Wincenty Pol (1807-1872), was a poet and geographer, explorer of Polish lands, participant in the November Uprising of 1830-1831 and Professor of the Jagiellonian University in 1849-1852.
