Peace was concluded at Hubertusburg, The Wettin hunting castle in Wermsdorf near Oschatz, on February 15, 1763, and was signed by Maria Theresa, Empress of Rome and King Frederick II the Great of Prussia. Maria Theresa finally relinquished her rights to Silesia, receiving the land of Cieszyn and Opava Silesia in return, and Frederick II agreed to support the empress's son, Joseph II, in his bid for the imperial crown.
