One of the two types of coins (thaler and ducat) minted during the reign of Batory at the Nagybanya mint in Transylvania. According to some sources, Transylvanian thalers and ducats were minted as part of a loan taken by Batory from his native principality for the purpose of preparing a new war against Moscow.
