Ferdinand Philippe, Duke of Orléans (Ferdinand Philippe Louis Charles Henri Joseph; September 3, 1810 - July 13, 1842) was the eldest son of King Louis Philippe I of France and Marie Amalia of Naples and Sicily. He was born in exile in his mother's native Sicily, while his parents were the Duke and Duchess of Orleans. Ferdinand Philip was heir to the Orleans family from birth. After his father's succession as King of France in 1830, he became the Royal Duke of France and Duke of Orléans. He died in 1842, never succeeding his father or living to see the fall of the July Monarchy and his family's subsequent exile to Britain.
