Obverse: Sea God Owatatsuminokami holding a sword in his left hand and his brother River God Hayaakitsuhikonokami pointing in the direction with his right hand, standing left, hand in hand.
Reverse (Award): A rosette depicting an imperial chrysanthemum in the center, with paulownia leaves beside it.

1882 (February) - The Japan Fisheries Association was founded, with Prince Akihito Komatsunomiya as president. Yajiyo Shinagawa was elected as the association's first secretary-general.
1882 (April) - The first edition of the JFA report was published.
