Marie-Joseph “Eugène” Sue (January 26, 1804 – August 3, 1857) was a French novelist. He was one of several authors who popularized the serial novel genre in France thanks to his extremely popular and widely imitated novel The Mysteries of Paris, published in a newspaper in 1842–1843.
