Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (Persian: محمدرضا پهلوی, born October 26, 1919 in Tehran, died July 27, 1980 in Cairo) – the last Shah of Iran, from the Pahlavi dynasty, pro-Western, initiator of social and economic reforms in Iran. In 1979, he was removed from power as a result of the Iranian Islamic Revolution.

Farah Pahlavi (Persian: فرح پهلوی, née Farah Diba, Persian: فرح دیبا, born October 14, 1938 in Tehran) – third wife of the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. On October 26, 1967, she was crowned ruler (shahbanu) of Iran by the shah, the first and only woman in the two and a half thousand years of Persian monarchy. In this way, the shah emphasized the importance of striving for the emancipation of Iranian women.
During her reign alongside her husband, she was responsible for matters related to the preservation of Iranian culture, the pursuit of women's equality in Iran, environmental protection, healthcare, and the development of small businesses in the country. She traveled extensively throughout the country to get to know her people better. After the Shah was overthrown by Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979, she and her husband left Iran. She is currently involved in work for UNESCO and charitable activities.
In Iran, she is a symbol of women fighting for civil rights. She wrote an autobiography published in Poland in a translation by Marta Eloy Cichocka entitled: Memoirs. For the Love of My King.
On August 25, 1977, the University of Warsaw awarded her an honorary doctorate in art history.
At the request of her children, she was awarded the Order of the Smile in 1978.
