HENRY V COUNT OF CHAMBORD
(1820-1883)
Charles X's grandson, Henri, was born on September 29, 1820. He was the son of the Duc de Berry, who was assassinated by Louvel on February 13, 1820. On August 2, 1830. Charles X abdicated in his favor, but Henri followed his grandfather into exile in England and then to Prague. His mother, Marie-Caroline de Bourbon, tried to raise the West of France in 1832. Her attempt was unsuccessful. In 1833. Henry V was 13 years old and recognized as an adult. After the fall of the Empire in 1870, the Legitimists tried to impose the restoration of the Bourbons to the French throne. The restoration failed because Henry categorically refused to wear the tricolor flag, preferring a white flag with fleur-de-lys.
