Obverse: Royal arms; all around inscription in Khmer alphabet:
Reverse: "SISOWATHMONIVONG ROI DU CAMBODGE" in a circle, with half-suns and rays at the top and bottom; around a wreath of oak on the left and laurel on the right.

This medal was established by King Sisowath Monivong in 1928. It was conferred upon individuals in recognition of meritorious service to the King or the Royal Household. It was also awarded in commemoration of events associated with the King.

Dr. Jan Hubert Van Raemdonck, who was born in Sint-Niklaas on July 12, 1817 and died on June 12, 1899, was a co-founder of the Royal Archaeological Circle of Waas Country in 1861. He was the first curator of the city museum and founder of the Mercator Collection. He was also a physician.
